Death is a funny thing. In it, one's life is best remembered. When someone dies, his or her life starts to matter more. Or at least it feels like it. Our dog died a couple days ago, from cancer. We've missed him so bad. Ever since we've been reminiscing his life that he spent with us, memory by memory, and it feels that it's never going to be enough of remembering him. I'm sad that he's passed cause he's our good boy. But I'm also relieved that he's gone cause we know this way is better. At least now we know that he is no longer hurting. So this is my way saying goodbye to you, buddy. Thank you for those years you've kindly shared with us. PS: sorry that it's not book-related but I'ven't been able to read since the day he went.

This is my second time reading The Electrical Field by Kerri Sakamoto. For I don't know what reason, I didn't like this book the first time round. But yesterday it was raining here, and all of sudden I was craving for something quiet, solemn, and intimate. That reminded me of this book which is about a disturbed Japanese woman placed in Canada after war camps who's been trying to find some closure of her past by denying it. And the second time reading it, I found it a serene and extremely beautiful narrative. The style that this book is written in soothed me like rocking soothes baby, and I felt real close with someone that I didn't know. I loved it so much. Lirael by Garth Nix was great. It was such a good book that now I am taking respite from continuing the series straightaway a bit, only so that my heart doesn't explode. I am a very slow fantasy reader. I can read one romance novel in a day, but I need a week for a fantasy. I think its because my imagination faculty is very lazy. I am terrible at reading detailed descriptive narratives, especially where I need to imagine an entirely different world than the one I live in. Out of all Colleen Hoover's book that I've read, It Ends With Us is my most favorite. I absolutely love it when our heroine is strong enough to make the right choice and not the comfortable choice. I'm reading Lirael by Garth Nix, the second book of a trilogy about young Mages. I didn't exactly enjoy the first one but flying through this one.
